Getting going with a gym and fitness routine can be tough.

But fear not – our resident instructor is here to give you a helping hand and offer you some useful tips.

 

Eddie Gray has been manager of the Echoes Gym at Medway Park (formerly the Black Lion Leisure Centre) for seven years.

He is a competitive bodybuilder, and with 14 years’ experience working in health and fitness is just the man to help you get active and life a healthy lifestyle.


Eddie’s top tips

Here are Eddie’s top tips for improving your lifestyle and kick-starting your fitness regime:

1. Set yourself achievable goals

2. Drink two litres of water a day

3.Keep within your physical limits – don’t push yourself too hard

4.Try and consume natural foods rather than processed foods

5.Walk 30 minutes each day, if possible

6.Sleep six-seven hours per night

7.Reduce alcohol consumption to five units a week, and drink no more than two cups of coffee or tea a day

8.Don’t be lonely. It’s far more fun to exercise with a friend

9.Never skip breakfast, and don’t eat late in the evening

10.Join an Echoes Gym!
